Prometheus should not be linked with Alien. Prometheus should not use elements from the alien saga. Ridley Scott is ruining the saga.

The characters don’t act logically and are inconsistant.
Prometheus has too many incoherences, such as :

- the engineer who is sacrificing himself at the beginning could not bring life to a planet with just some bits of his mashed DNA.
- the members of the crew do not know each other, even if they travelled together and that they must have met before going to sleep.
- Dr Shaw runs, jumps, rolls after she cut open during a cesarean done by machine unfit for that purpose.
- the engineers have a wall carving which represents a grown alien and a facehugger, but a cycle between the black goo contained in the urns to an alien is too random and uncertain.
- The robot is supposed to bee emotionless but he is playing with black goo just for fun on Dr Holloway, one of the most important person on the mission.
- Why would the engineers leave tracks and maps so as to find them, when they are experimenting on biological warfare to eradicate humanity…
- Scientists woulnd’t take their helmets off even if the air is breathable. Maybe it won’t be for long, or there could be dangerous microorganisms.
- The geologist shouldn’t get lost as he has sent a flying mapping ball that give him a 3D representation of the entire ship. The same geologist was scared when he saw a long dead E.T. and holograms, but when he saw a monstruous mutant worm, he tried to pet it.
- When the ship roll on the ground after crashing, the logical thing to do would be tu run sideways, not in line with the ship.
- Dr Shaw leave with the E.T. ship at the end. The ship has probably no food and is unfit for human.
- The spacejockey from Alien are much bigger and do not have the design that the engineer from Prometheus :

Ridley Scott is an opportunist. He first stated that it was not a prequel (before the movie got out) :

“While Alien was indeed the jumping off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place,” explains Scott. “The keen fan will recognise strands of Alien ’s DNA, so to speak, but the ideas tackled in this film are unique, large and provocative. I couldn’t be more pleased to have found the singular tale I’d been searching for, and finally return to this genre that's so close to my heart.”

But now that he plans the sequels, they finally are prequels :

“but it won’t be in the next one. It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the ‘Alien’ franchise… The whole point of it is to explain the Alien franchise and to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself. I always thought of the Alien as kind of a piece of bacterial warfare. I always thought that that original ship, which I call the Croissant, was a battleship, holding these biomechanoid creatures that were all about destruction.”

And he dares assosiate Alien with Prometheus with the new title of the next movie :

"Well actually, really it’s going to be Alien: Paradise Lost, so Prometheus 2 is not really going to be — it’s going to be Alien: Paradise Lost now."

"Well actually, really it’s going to be Alien: Paradise Lost, so Prometheus 2 is not really going to be — it’s going to be Alien: Paradise Lost now."
