Earlier Release Date for Love, Simon in South Africa

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Love, Simon is a change agent for perceptions & acceptance. There's nothing forbidden or sexualized about this movie, it's a family movie for all to see. The problem, however, is the release date is set for the 29th June whereas it was released in the US in March. So by then, there would already be a good bootleg/pirated copy circulating for people to download. This will most assuredly have a significant impact on the projected profit of ticket sales for Cinemas here. There is an outcry within the LGBT+ community that I hope cinema heads like Nu Metro & Ster-Kinekor will hear. They NEED to see this movie, They need their friends & family to see it. They need their communities to see it. It has allowed so many who have seen this movie to find the courage to Come Out.

Chaz Harris recently wrote: "I’ve always wanted to believe that a great love story could happen for me, the way straight people are shown that all the time, instead of one that ends in pain and sadness. I’ve wanted the rest of the world to see me and tell me it didn’t want to shame me into the shadows. For the world to show me that I, too, was lovable."

So I URGE everyone to sign this to help us get Love, Simon to theaters around South Africa at a much sooner date.
