Education is always the key for any Nation to Develop Effectively.
Human Resource Development is a stepping stone of development where Education plays most of the major roles and responsibilities to this particular development and to the development of PNG. And I know it is one of the core pillar of the Vision 2050, too; (Which the pillar states to produce a lot of human resource in PNG by the year 2050). But in order for human resource to generate in numbers, there must be TEACHERS, (from Kindys to Tertiary) . TEACHERS!!!!!
TEACHERS ARE THE KEY FOR THE FUTURE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA IN THE FOUNDATION OF KNOWLEDGE..
Year in, Year out. Papua New Guinean Teachers have been:
1. Under paid. Teachers work DOUBLE/ EVEN TRIPLE their working rate. They work at night, even keep working without sleep at most times but are only paid at the time: 800am-406pm(8hours) for 10days [esti. 8hrs×10days×K7.00 - (10%of Ans) = Fortnight]. With no overtime or other ALLOWANCE.
2. Over Taxed. Includes DOUBLE Taxed
3. Not given their Entitlements(Like leave fares, retirement benefits, backpay, Boarding & Higher Duty Allowance, Disadvantage Allowance, etc.) at all or on time for holidays.
3. Off the payroll without notification or knowing the reason(s) why to help them get back on pay.
(The list of issues goes on but refer to PNGTA for that because they have been sleeping)..
Therefore, this must now; CHANGE!!!!.
2018 is a new era for teachers.
We want and demand the Government of Papua New Guinea to increase our pay on the 3rd fortnight of 2018 (3/2018 fortnight) . This pay change must cater for
- Medical expenses,
- Risk Allowance &;
- Insurance. Starting from base level teachers up.
This pay must continue and not changed until the end of every year And a 5% increase should be granted annually.
We also demand the Government to remove Teaching Service Commission(TSC) and leave us with the Department of Education because we have seen that the TSC has been a FAILURE in the system to cater for teachers welfare and well being as a employment agent. We demand to be paid directly by the Finance DEPARTMENT and Department of Personal Management (DPM).
Finally, We demand that all our Entitlements be back dated and paid accordingly through our accounts because it is time to do away with the manual cheque system. It is also to be considered that our Entitlements be paid in by every pay23 of any year before the school year is completed..

We are waiting. PNG CITIZENS PLEASE STAND WITH US YOUR TEACHERS.
I personally think because MP have most of their kids schooling overseas and in IEA schools they don't care about the poor school teachers of PNG curriculum school.
