Thank you, thank you, thank you
May 31, 2018 — Dear Supporters
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to support this petition.
We are overwhelmed and humbled by the courage you have shown by sharing your personal experiences and we send love and strength to all of you who have suffered directly or indirectly as a result of this broken system.
We knew something was massively wrong, but we are totally shocked at the extent of the problem and it’s clear that nothing less than a total reform of the system is required.
So we were delighted to see this announcement yesterday:
'Is it #TimesUp for the family courts?
Women’s Aid and Queen Mary University of London release new report on domestic abuse, human rights and child contact cases in the family courts revealed to coincide with closing of the Domestic Abuse Bill consultation.'
And with over 90 000 supporters and so many harrowing stories we have also written to the Ministry of Justice to ask if we can submit this petition as part of the evidence gathering for the Domestic Abuse Bill Consultation.
Please add your own voice to the consultation. It closes today – 31st May.
Although this has come from Women’s Aid, we know that many fathers are affected too and with the right reforms in place, children will be put at the heart of the decision making and the true intentions of the malevolent parent will be exposed at an early stage to the benefit of all.
PLEASE KEEPING SHARING THIS PETITION AND HELP US GIVE A VOICE AND HOPE TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN DEVASTATED BY THIS BROKEN SYSTEM!
Rachel & Teresa xx
