We’re feasting for Priya, Nades, Kopika & Tharunicaa!

Angela Fredericks
BILOELA, Australia

Jul 16, 2018 — In Biloela, people still talk about the delicious home-made curries that Priya would bring up to the local hospital. It was her way of saying thank you to Biloela’s doctors after her two beautiful daughters were born here in our town.

On Wednesday 1 August, we’re following Priya’s lead by holding our own Community Tamil Feast in Biloela. We would like to say thank you to the many supporters of this family by inviting you to join us for a night of togetherness over a shared meal. If you are in Biloela or surrounds keep your eyes peeled for local advertisement.

The very same night, we’re inviting Melbournians to join the wonderful chefs at culinary institution Tamil Feasts விருந்து as they lend their talents to the call to bring Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharunicaa home to Biloela: https://www.trybooking.com/WYMW

Tamil Feasts is a social enterprise serving up traditional Sri Lankan fare prepared by Tamil men currently seeking asylum in Australia. It’s also a unique opportunity to experience the vibrant colour, spice and flavour of authentic Tamil cuisine–rarely found outside Sri Lanka.

If you live in Melbourne, please come and show your support for Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharunicaa on Wednesday 1 August, while enjoying a traditional banquet of curries, chutneys, vadai, dahl, and masalas made by proud Tamil cooks Richman, Nirma, Niro and Nigethan.

Pre-booking at https://www.trybooking.com/WYMW is essential and places are limited. Don’t miss out!

Thank you,

Angela

PS - Thank you to everyone who has been in touch asking when Priya and Kopika’s appeal will be heard by the Federal Court. The appeal has now been lodged and is expected to be heard in late August. You can read the latest on the case at http://bit.ly/2L1tdv2 - and please stay tuned for more updates and calls to action!
