£10K fines for MPs breaking COVID-19 rules at 2020 Christmas Party 

During the festive period in 2020, during Tier 3 restrictions being imposed on the general public - politicians had a Christmas party where there was said to be no social distancing, in a leaked video from someone who attended the party.

This was during a time of great uncertainty and anxiety for most people who were dealing with the stress of not seeing loved ones and friends during the Christmas Period, due to the rules put in place by the very people who disregarded them.

One rule for them and another for us.

People who were issued £10k fines, who in some cases didn't understand the rules as they were highly confusing - would have likely battled great levels of anxiety over paying these fines. It's only fair on them for those breaking these rules for their Christmas Party at 10 Downing Street are issued with the same fines - to be paid from their own money.
