My family and I lost a wonderful woman in our lives back on January 14, 2016. She was the backbone to this family. She was born in Jutiado, Puerto Rico in 1940. She fled to chicago for a better life but she suffered alot always taking care of her own family. So she moved to NYC when my mom was just a little girl. It was not easy being a single mother working and taking care of her daughters. Then she took the burden of raising her grandchildren. She said she never wanted to see us in a foster care. She gave us her all for almost 30 years. I remember she used to say she started cooking frituras in 1988 when I was born. She said she never cared how busy she was. She kept me in a play pen and still sold her food. So now these days, my family and I just want to give her back what we never had a chance to give her, unconditional love and memories. If this petition gets passed and we name 108 after her, it would bring back so much great memories. And all we ask is to make her proud of us up in heaven.
