Debney’s Park is a park used by local communities in Flemington. It is used by nearby schools, residents and families. The Moonee Valley City Council is proposing a colossal, triangular building as an updated version of the already present community centre (that they plan on abandoning it where it currently is). By doing this, the council is removing at least a third of the oval, crushing the size of soccer and football games that sports clubs use every week. The aim of this petition is to avoid building on Debney’s Park, and to have it built nearby instead, to allow residents, families, schools, sports clubs and locals to use the beloved oval.
