Petition for a Sincere Implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination

The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination defines discrimination as "any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin". Many of the signatory states have already created anti-discrimination laws, which include articles against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender, mental or physical disabilities or age. While Japan has joined the Convention in 1995, it has yet to take legislative or other measures to fulfill its obligations. In light of this situation, we submit the following petition to the Japanese government upon a resolution in the March on Tokyo for Freedom, to be held on September 22.

(International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination)
