ኢትዮጵያን እንፈውስ፡- ግጭቱ በውይይት እና በሰላማዊ መንገድ እንዲፈታ የቀረበ ጥሪ

በሃገራችን እየተካሄደ ባለው ጦርነት ሁለቱም ወገኖች ግጭቱን በሰላም ለመፍታት ጥረት ማድረግ እንዳለባቸው ጽኑ እምነት ያላቸው ኢትዮጵያውያን ድምጽ ቦታ ሊሰጠው እና ሊሰማ ይገባል። ይህ ያለጥርጥር እርስ በእርስ መጠፋፋትን የሚያስከትል አካሄድ እስከ አሁን ድረስ ብዙ ዋጋ ሲያስከፍለን ቆይቷል። ከመቼውም ጊዜ ይልቅ ከዚህ አዘቅት የመውጫው መንገድ ጦርነት እንዳልሆነ አሁን ግልጽ ሊሆን ይገባል። በሁለቱም ወገን ያለው ህዝብ እና አመራር፣ ጦርነትን የመቀጠል ፍላጎቱን ገርቶ ለግጭቱ መንስኤ የሆኑት ችግሮች ምንም ያህል የተወሳሰቡ ቢሆኑ፣ እነሱን ለመፍታት የሚያስችሉ አማራጭ መንገዶችን ለማግኘት ቁርጠኛ ሊሆን ይገባል።

ድርድር እና ውይይት ማድረግ እንደ ድክመት መቆጠር የለበትም።        

የቀረንን ጉልበት እና ሀብት በሙሉ ሀገራችንን የመፈወስ እና መልሶ የመገንባቱን ሂደት ላይ ማዋል አለብን። በዚህ የሚያምኑ ኢትዮጵያውያን በጣም ለረጅም ጊዜ ገሸሽ ተደርገው ተቃራኒውና ከዚህ የተለየው አመለካከት መደበኛ እና ማህበራዊ ሚዲያው ላይ ሲነግስ እየተመለከቱ ቆይተዋል።

ሀገሪቱ የሁላችንም ሀገር ናት፤ የሚሆነው ነገርም በሁላችንም ላይ ተጽዕኖ ያሳድራል። ኢትዮጵያ የእኛም ሀገር ናት። የጋራ ድምጻችን ቦታ ሊሰጠው የሚገባውም ለዚህ ነው። የብዙሀኑ ዝምተኝነት ይብቃ።

እናስተውል ማለት ሀገር ወዳድ ያለመሆን አይደለም። እንዲያውም በተቃራኒው ሀገር ወዳድ መሆን ማለት ምቾት የማይሰጠንን እውነታ መቀበል እና ሀገራችንን ከጥፋት መታደግ ነው። ስለሆነም ሁለቱም ወገኖች ድርድርን እና ውይይትን ሁነኛው አማራጭ አድርገው እንዲያዩ እና ዕውን እንዲሆንም በተቻላቸው መጠን ከፍተኛ ጥረት እንዲያደርጉ ጥሪ እናስተላልፋለን። በተጨማሪም ዜጎች ይህን አካሄድ እንዲደግፉ እና ይህ ቀውስ ሰላማዊ መፍትሄ እንዲያገኝ የራሳቸውን አስተዋጽኦ እንዲያደርጉ አጥብቀን እንጠይቃለን።

Voices of Ethiopians who strongly believe that both sides of this conflict should resort to peaceful resolution matter and deserve to be heard. This path of mutually-assured destruction has been costing us too much. It should be clear by now that there is no sustainable military solution to this quagmire. People and leaders on both sides should overcome the urge to resort to further violence and commit to alternative ways of addressing the problems that underlie the conflict, however complex. Engaging in negotiation and dialogue should not be considered  as weakness .

Whatever energy and resources we have left should be spent on starting the healing and rebuilding process for our country. Ethiopians who believe this have taken the back seat for far too long and watched the opposite/different viewpoint dominate the mainstream and social media. The country belongs to us all and what happens affects us all. Ethiopia is our country too. Which is why our collective voices matter. No more the silent majority.

Urging for common sense is not being unpatriotic. On the contrary, patriotism is accepting an uncomfortable fact and save one's country from destruction. Hence, we call upon both sides to see to the possibility of negotiation and dialogue as the best alternative and exert their maximum effort for its realization.
