යුක්තිය ඉල්ලා සිටින්නන්ට එරෙහි මර්ධනයට එරෙහිව නොපමාව පෙනී සිටින්න.

අපගේ එඩේරුන් වන රදගුරු තුමෙනි, සභානායක තුමෙනි, පැවදි නායක නයිකාවෙනි,

"කවුරු වුවත් ඔබ කොතන වුවත් ඔබ මගේ සහෝදරයා" කිතුනු ඇදහිල්ල එසේ දැකීමට අපට උගන්නවා ඇත. එබැවින් "ස්වාමිනි මම මගේ සහෝදරයාගේ රැකවලාදැයි" ඇසීමට කිතුනු අපට නොහැකිය.

අප රටේ අතීත අත්දැකීම අනුව විශේෂයෙන් තරුණ හා ශිෂ්‍ය ප්‍රජාව යුක්තිය ඉල්ලා කරන සටන් වලට ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී විසදුම් නොලැබුණහොත් මර්ධනයේ හස්තය දිගු වුවහොත් රට අදුරු යුගයක් වෙත යා හැකි බැවින් එයින් මුදා ගැනීමට කල්තියා මැදිහත් වීම අවශ්‍යය.

අප සහෝදර ජනතාව වසංගතයක් තුල මිය යන දුක්බර වාතාවරණයක තව අතකින් ජිවින බර ඉහල යාම රැකියා බිදවැටීම මත පීඩාවට පත්වෙදිදී ඒවාට විසදුම් දීමට වඩා කොතලාවල පනත ගෙන ඒමට උත්සහා කිරීම පාක්ෂික හිතවතුන් නඩු හබ වලින් බේරාගැනීමට මරණ දඩුවම නියම වුවන් නිදහස් කිරීම ආදී දේශපාලන න්‍යාය පත්‍රයක් රජය ක්‍රියාවේ යොදවන බව පෙනේ .

අනිත් අතට අයුක්තියට අසාධාරණයට සත්‍ය සැගවීමට එරෙහිව හඬ නගන සමාජ ක්‍රියාධරයින් මාධ්‍ය වේදීන් වෘත්තීය සමිති නායකයින් ගුරුවරුන් ආදීන් ප්‍රශ්න කරමින් නිරෝධායන නීති යටතේ රඳවා ගනිමින්,  අත්තඩංගුවට ගනිමින් පැහැර ගැනීමට උත්සහ කරමින් බියවද්දන හිරිහැර කරන තත්වයක් නිර්මාණය වී ඇත. 

ඒ ක්‍රියාවලියේ එක් අවස්ථාවක් වුයේ පාස්කු ඉරුදින ප්‍රහාරය ගැන යුක්තිය ඉල්ලා හඩ නැගූ ශෙහාන් මාලක රහස් පොලිසිය මගින් දින 8ක් ප්‍රශ්න කිරීමයි. මේ තත්වය ශුද්ධාත්මාලෝකයෙන් බලා උතුරු දකුණු, කිතුනු කිතුනු නොවන සියලු ආගමික නායකයින් ඒකරාශී කරගෙන මර්ධනයේ ක්‍රියාමාර්ග වෙනුවට ජනතා ප්‍රශ්න විසඳන යුක්තිය ඉටු කරන ක්‍රියාමාර්ග වෙත යොමුවීමට රජයට කරුණු දක්වමින් ඔබගේ දිවැසිවර කාර්යය නොපමාව ඉටු කරන මෙන් මෙහි නම සදහන් කරන අපි ඕනෑකමින් ඉල්ලා සිටිමු.

நீதிக்காக குரல் கொடுப்போருக்கு எதிரான அடக்கு முறைக்கு எதிராக தாமதமின்றி குரல் கொடுக்கவும்

எமது ஆயர்களான திருச்சபை பேராயர்களே! திருச்சபை பெருந்தலைவர்களே! மக்கள் தலைவிகளே! தலைவர்களே!

''யாராக இருந்தாலும் எங்கிருந்தாலும் நீங்கள் என்னுடைய சகோதரர்களே இவ்வாறே எமது கிறிஸ்தவ பற்றுறுதி பார்க்க கற்றுக் கொடுத்துள்ளது. ஆதலால் 'ஆண்டவரே' நான் என்னுடைய சகோதரனின் காவலனா? எனக் கேட்க கிறிஸ்தவர்களால் முடியாது.

எமது நாட்டின் கடந்த கால அனுபவத்திற்கேற்ப விசேடமாக இளைஞர் மற்றும் மாணவர்களின் நீதிக்கான போராட்டங்களுக்கு ஜனநாயக ரீதியிலான பதில் கொடுக்காது அடக்குமுறை கட்டவிழ்த்து விடப்பட்டதால் நாடு இருண்ட யுகத்தை நோக்கி தள்ளப்பட்டது என்பதே உண்மை இத்தகைய நிலமை மீள உருவாகாதிருக்க முன் ஆயத்தத்தோடு செயல்படுவது காலத்தின் அவசர கடமையாகும்.

எமது சதோர உறவுகள் பயங்கர தொற்றுநோய் மரணத்தின் அவலத்தை சந்தித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கையில், இன்னுமொரு பக்கம் வாழ்க்கை செலவு அதிகரித்தும், வேலை இழந்தும் பல்வேறு துன்பத்தை அனுபவிக்கையில் கொத்தலாவல பல்கலைக்கழக சட்டத்தை நிறைவேற்றத் துடிப்பதும், தமக்குச் சார்பானவர்களை நீதிமன்ற சட்டநடவடிக்கைகளில் இருந்து விடுவிக்க முயற்சிப்பதும,  ரணத்தண்டனைக் கைதிகளை விடுவிப்பதுமான நிகழ்ச்சி நிரலில் ஆட்சியாளர் ஈடுபடுவதாக உணர முடிகிறது.

அத்தோடு முறையற்ற வகையில் உண்மைகளை மறைப்பதற்கு எதிராக நீதியோடு குரல் கொடுக்கும் சமூக செயற்பாட்டாளர்கள், தொழிற்சங்கத் தலைவர்கள், ஆசிரியர்கள் என்போரை விசாரணைக்கு உட்படுத்தி, தனிமைப்படுத்தல் சட்டத்தின் கீழ் தடுத்து வைத்து கைது செய்தல், கடத்துவதற்கு முயற்சித்து பயத்திற்கு உட்படுத்துதல் எனும் பயங்கர நிலைமைகள் தலை தூக்கியுள்ளன.'

இத்தகைய செயற்பாட்டின் ஒர் அங்கமாக உயிர்ப்புத் தின தாக்குதலுக்கு நீதி கேட்டு குரல் எழுப்பிய செகான் மாலக்க இரகசிய பொலிசாரால் தொடர்ச்சியாக எட்டு நாட்கள் விசாரணை செய்வதைக் குறிப்பிடலாம். இத்தகைய செயற்பாட்டினை புனித ஆவியரின் வெளிச்சத்தில் வடக்கு, தெற்கு மற்றும் கிறிஸ்தவ, கிறிஸ்தவரல்லாத அனைத்து சமய தலைவர்களையும் உள்ளடக்கி அடக்கு முறைக்கு பதிலாக மக்களின் பிரச்சினைகளைத் தீர்க்கும் நீதியான செயற்பாட்டினை உறுதிப் படுத்துவதற்கு வேண்டிய விடயங்களை அரசுக்குத் தெளிவுப் படுத்தும் தீர்க்கர் பணியினை தாமதமின்றி மேற்கொள்ளுமாறு கீழ் பெயர் குறிப்பிடும் நாம் தங்களிடம் அவசர வேண்டு;கோள் விடுக்கின்றோம்.

Dear Most Rev. Bishops and Church leaders,

Our Christian faith teaches us that no matter who we are and where we come from, all of us are brothers and sisters of one human family in God the father and mother. Therefore, no more we can ask “Lord am I my brother’s keeper?”

In the light of the past experiences in our country, especially when the youth and students get engaged in struggles for justice, and if they are repressed with an iron fist instead of being responded with democratic answers, the country will slip into a dark period of time again. And so, to prevent such a tragedy there is a necessity that we should make an intervention well in advance.

We are in a context where our fellow citizens suffer and die in a tragic pandemic situation; they cannot bear up the burden of high cost of living; they are battered by the loss of employment opportunities. But we see that the state, instead of bringing the right solutions to these problems, wants to arbitrarily get the Kotelawala Defense University Bill approved; acquit and release their political party supporters who have been charged for many crimes committed and even sentenced to death.

Conversely, there is a situation where the state goes on questioning, detaining under the laws of quarantining, arresting, kidnapping, intimidating, and imprisoning the social and human rights activists, media personnel, trade union leaders, and teachers who raise their voice against injustice and undermining of truth. One occasion of that course of action of the state was the convening of Shehan Malaka by the CID police to question him for eight days because he raised his voice demanding justice and truth for the Easter Sunday Attack. 

We who put our signatures here humbly request you,

• to look at this situation in the light of the Holy Spirit
• and unite all Christian and non-Christian leaders in the north and south
• and fulfill your prophetic mission without delay by explaining matters to the state and guiding and directing it towards a course of action that will not take repressive measures but that will seek justice and right solutions to peoples’ problems.
