Uni students all around New Zealand have access to high quality menstrual cups for prices as low as of $15 ! So why don’t we?
UCSA has been refusing to explore such options in favour of it’s commercial arrangement with the Campus Pharmacy. Said pharmacy has decided that making money from students who are caught short, is more important than overcoming period poverty; a proven condition of students missing lectures due to not having money for menstrual products. If UCSA and the Pharmacy only had the right values, we could all have a menstrual cup up our hoo-ha right now! So let’s stand together, menstruators and non-menstruators alike, and show UCSA and the Pharmacy that they could help end period poverty here at Canterbury University.
