Vote Better New York
Nearly 2 million voting age citizens in New York are not registered to vote. So, it is no surprise then that New York consistently falls to the bottom of voter turnout rankings. In 2014, only 20 percent of New Yorkers cast a ballot -- good for 46th place. This indifference to the core right and responsibility of our democracy is stunning. It doesn't have to be this way. We live in a smartphone world, but our election laws are stuck in the past. It is time to reboot the way we vote to reflect how New Yorkers live today. The Vote Better NY coalition advocates for fundamental reforms to put voters back in charge of our elections. Change won't happen unless we ask. Please join us.
