Cut off funding for the CBC once and for all
CBC has recently been caught spreading inaccurate information about Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre. According to a statement by the MP, the "CBC attacked my wife, saying she only has a career [because] of me. Check the facts." A simple fact check on the matter reveals that CBC, did in fact, get the story wrong. But, this is not the first time CBC has been caught lying and spreading disinformation. One notable example, is when CBC was found guilty of defaming and spreading inaccurate information about CNQ. Additionally, in another notable example, CBC was found guilty and ordered to pay hefty damages to two Cardiologists who were inaccurately portrayed in an investigative report. This petition is directed at Justin Trudeau, and is demanding that he make steps to Defund the CBC, and use the over $1,000,000,000.00 of taxpayer dollars for something that actually helps people. Save Sneaky Dee's. Stop the Gentrification. Save our Music.
We are losing Sneaky Dee's - a popular music and social venue - to developers. A Development Application was put forward on September 4, 2020 for 419 College (near Bathurst). According to the proposal, the developers want to build a "13-storey mixed-use building with retail/commercial at grade. The proposal consists of a total of 169 dwelling units and 13,009.1 square metres of combined residential and non-residential gross floor area." Many local journalists and musicians have reported that this signifies the beginning of the end of our beloved music venue. So many people are talking about it, it has begun to trend on Twitter. Many point to how the venue served as a rite of passage for many young people stepping into Toronto's Music Scene. We have already lost other important venues in Toronto:- The Hideout- Coalition- Silver Dollar- The Central- Many More We can't afford to lose another one. SIGN AND SHARE THIS PETITION. Provide EMERGENCY SHELTER for Victims of Red Lake Fire
A massive fire recently ripped through Red Lake in Northwest Ontario. The whole town has been evacuated, and many people have lost their homes. Depending on the size and scope of the fire, this displacement might be PERMANENT. This Petition is asking Justin Trudeau, Doug Ford, and the Senior Leadership in Thunder Bay to provide EMERGENCY SHELTER to these victims. As well as transfer them into stable and safe housing, if need be. Otherwise, they will have nowhere to go.
Repeal Bill 184 and Protect Vulnerable Tenants
Bill 184 was recently passed into law. This Bill will make it quicker and easier for landlords to evict tenants. The facts are: - Doug Ford shows no sign of turning back - Over 10,000 people will end up homeless within a month - John Tory has failed to use his emergency powers This petition is a last ditch effort to spread awareness, and give the province one last chance to listen. We have no choice, it's this, or nothing.
Remove Ivanka Trump from the MMIWG Cold Case Office
Ivanka Trump announced today that she was opening up a Cold Case office in Minnesota for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. However, Ivanka forget to mention that her Father - Donald Trump, was a friend of Jeffrey Epstein and is accused of raping a 13 year old girl. Trump has made several racist comments during his time as POTUS. This is a slap in the face to many Indigenous people that have been victims of serious crimes. Ivanka has remained silent on this issue, and has protected her Father by refusing to speak up. Based on this obvious conflict of interest, she is not qualified to run or be involved with the MMIWG Cold Case Office, and should remove herself from the post. We are asking that a member of Indigenous community replace her.

St. Volodymyr: Remove Nazi Monument from your Cemetery
On July 17, 2020, multiple Canadian media outlets reported that a Nazi Monument in Oakville was defaced, and that the Halton Police were investigating it as a hate crime. Someone painted “Nazi war monument” on a stone cenotaph commemorating those who served with the 14th SS Division. The monument is located in Oakville in the St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery. Good news, is that after the news articles were released, the police went back on that statement. PUBLIC PRESSURE WORKS Regardless, the statue still stands, and people are understandably upset with the fact it remains in their neighbourhood. This news continues to disgust many Canadians, and have since made their outrage public, especially via social media. Oakville Mayor Rob Burton issued a press release the same day saying it was not within his authority to remove the statue. That means that we need to petition the owner of St. Volodymyr cemetery to remove it. If neither the City nor the Police have the authority to remove the statue, we have to go to them directly.
