On average, 211 receives 200 phone calls per day from people seeking shelter. Yet through existing shelters there are only an average of 5 vacant beds available per day.
That leaves approximately 195 children, women, and men left in the streets and/or dangerous environments.
It is obvious there are not enough shelters in Milwaukee. However, the 2018 Milwaukee county budget is currently written to cut funding by $200,000 from homeless shelters.
Please join us in telling Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele that we will not stand by and allow things like new office furniture to be more important than human lives!
