Apologise for blaming revenge porn victims!
Recently several nude photos of Adelaide women and girls have been shared as revenge porn on a US website. Some of the images shared were of underage girls. On 17 June 2015 Sunrise wrote a Facebook post stating 'What's it going to take for women to get the message about taking and sending nude photos?' Tell Sunrise to apologise for this awful and damaging statement! It is never the fault of women or girls for sharing nude photos or trusting their partners. It is the fault of organised predatory, spiteful people who have abused trust. Due to these people's actions these images are now open to further misuse and unconsensual sharing. It is time for Sunrise to put the blame where it really lies - on the people who share private pictures to ruin someone's life and the culture that dismisses this!Tweet at Sunrise and Channel 7 with the hashtag #forshamesunrise@sunriseon7 @Channel7 If you have been a victim of revenge porn You can make a police report via the Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network (ACORN) https://report.acorn.gov.au/ Call 1800 RESPECT (a national counselling services for sexual assault and domestic violence) - 1800 737 732 Women aged 16 and over in SA can contact Yarrow Place who provide counselling for victims of sexual crimes - (08) 8226 8777 If you are under the age of 16 in SA, you can also contact the Victim Support Service - (08) 8231 5626
