STOP PAYING THE PUBLIC TO KILL WILD HORSES
Skydog is a Wild Horse Sanctuary with ranches in California and Oregon for the rescue, rehabilitation and re-wilding of mustangs who have been rounded up from public lands across the American West. One year ago the Government Agency charged with managing and protecting these wild horses introduced an incentive plan offering people one thousand dollars for each horse or donkey they adopted. One year later as the Bureau of Land Management heralds this program a success in press releases, we are seeing the same wild horses they paid people to take away, being dumped in Kill Pens in record numbers. These mostly young horses are being shipped to slaughter in Mexico and Canada one year after being rounded up from America's public lands. This wild horse and burro program is broken and is complicit in sending wild horses to their deaths. The BLM is not doing any real tracking or follow-up to ensure the safety of our wild horses. This is one failure of their mandate under the law. Please sign our petition urging the Bureau of Land Management to disband this terrible ADOPTION INCENTIVE PROGRAM - which is paying people to dump wild, untrained, young horses in Kill Pens. These horses and burros are federally protected and they need to be PROPERLY AND SCIENTIFICALLY managed on public lands by the BLM and the Department of the Interior. Current wild horse roundups should be halted until there is a successful program in place to adopt out the 50,000 horses already sitting in holding pens. Having lost their freedom and families they should not now also lose their lives. STOP THE BLM ADOPTION INCENTIVE PROGRAM BEFORE ONE MORE HORSE SHIPS TO SLAUGHTER. NOTE - Please do not donate on this page - the donation goes to Change.org not to help us fight this cause.
Restore Skydog Sanctuary to Facebook
On January 29th 2020 SKYDOG SANCTUARY - a wonderful wild horse rescue sanctuary and well respected 501c3 non profit, was suddenly disabled and removed from Facebook for supposedly breaking Facebook guidelines. They had done nothing wrong and are an exemplary example of kindness and compassion towards animals, especially horses, AND other people. This world renowned wild horse sanctuary with four beautiful ranches in California and Oregon, is home to over 150 equines who were saved from terrible abuse and starvation and many were saved from kill pens hours before shipping to slaughter abroad. Facebook has sent them emails telling them their page will not be restored under any circumstances. It had 80,000 wonderful supportive followers who have donated over $15,000 in just the past few weeks for a new family of wild horses to come to the sanctuary. That money has not been forwarded to Skydog and remains with Facebook leaving this family of six without funds to be picked up. Please do not donate to this petition as it just goes to this page not to help Skydog - you can help show your support by donating at www.skydogranch.org/donate or follow them on Patreon at Patreon.com/skydogsanctuary or Instagram @skydogsanctuary as well as signing this petition to get them reinstated to Facebook. Please help them get back on Facebook - they also disabled the founders personal page Clare Staples. We miss them dearly and want our horses back and to be able to donate to their wonderful fundraisers which helped us all contribute to their rescues. Their URL was Facebook.com/skydogsanctuary/ and there is nothing there now to show our love for Clare the founder and the horses in their care. With so much hatred on social media to have the one good and kind place removed due to hackers and cyber bullying is so unfair. Please sign and let Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook know we want them back.
Free The Twins ❤️
with their mama ELSA
PLEASE HELP US KEEP THIS FAMILY TOGETHER AND BRING ELSA AND HER BABIES TO SKYDOG. Skydog Sanctuary is a wild horse sanctuary in Oregon. We rescue at-risk mustangs as well as work with our local BLM wild horse corrals taking special needs, injured or sick horses to give them extra care and bring them back to health. Recently we were asked to take a mustang mare who had given birth to twins - which is an incredibly rare and miraculous event. We travelled to the corrals to see them and agreed to take all three of them. We were then notified that the mare was to be part of a spay study where they intended to remove the ovaries of the mares to prevent them from having further babies. We don't believe they have a legal right to prevent us adopting this mare, just to keep her to experiment upon. Please sign this petition to "Free the Twins" and their mama to bring them as a family to a life of freedom and sanctuary on our beautiful 9000 acre ranch - where the mother would get to stay with her two precious babies forever. We want to raise awareness about this issue and show the truth behind the BLM's claims that they are trying to adopt out horses when actually they seem to be doing the opposite. The corrals recently informed us that they were going to now shoot special-needs horses instead of sending them to our sanctuary when we are offering to take them and take care of them for their lifetimes. It costs the American taxpayers millions of dollars every year to roundup, warehouse and stockpile these magnificent horses and we are offering to take this family of THREE wild horses, as well as the special needs mustangs, and they are saying no. We have been inspected by the BLM numerous times and approved for unlimited numbers of mustangs so why are they saying NO. Please sign our petition to let the BLM Burns Wild Horse and Burro Corrals know that you would like this beautiful mare named Elsa and her babies Faith and Hope to come and live with us. Thank you so much ❤️❤️ To learn more about our work go to www.skydogranch.org #freethetwins #stopthespaystudy
