Share Our City // Allow Triplexes Anywhere
If you want to share our city, welcome people with diverse incomes and diverse backgrounds, and stop reserving whole neighborhoods for only the most wealthy buyers, please sign this petition today! The HALA recommendation SF.2 called for allowing a "Broader Mix of Lower Density Housing Types within Single Family Areas" It states: "The City should allow more variety of housing scaled to fit within traditional single-family areas to increase the economic and demographic diversity of those who are able to live in these family oriented neighborhoods. The broader mix of housing would include small lot dwellings, cottages or courtyard housing, rowhouses, duplexes, triplexes, and stacked flats. Although a broader variety of housing would be permitted, the total amount of “massing” or building area on a single lot should remain the same (excluding ADUs and DADUs). This does not eliminate the option of single family housing; rather, it increases the opportunities for more efficient use of very limited land resources." SHARE THE CITY It also states "The City should allow units in a duplex or a triplex to be separately owned, as well as allowing a traditionally scaled single family structure to be occupied by multiple different households in different units within the structure. This strategy is consistent with the HALA recommendation to promote homeownershipopportunities within the city (Strategy H.1)." If you want to share the city, welcome people with diverse incomes and diverse backgrounds, and stop reserving whole neighborhoods for only the most wealthy buyers, please sign this petition! Thank you for your support!
Say Yes! To Housing Near Transit #udistrict #yestothefuture
Now is the time to voice your support for the U District Urban Design changes! The proposal would allow our city to house more people in the blocks surrounding the new light rail station opening in 2021 at NE 43rd St. and Brooklyn Ave NE. The proposal would also implement new affordable housing and open space requirements, as well as incentives for childcare, historic preservation, and street improvements.
