The South Sydney Rabbitohs are one of the NRL's oldest and proudest clubs. They are also one of the strongest supporters of women's rugby league in the country, with strong pathways for the development of women to the elite level. Despite their strong player base and solid financial backing, the NRL has inexplicably decided to exclude them from the inaugural NRL women's competition. This has devastated the hundreds of girls and women whose dream is to represent the South Sydney Rugby League Football club at the highest level. It also likely means that many of these women will be forced to play for other clubs who have been accepted into the competition, and will therefore be lost to the area.
