REDF's mission is to create job opportunities and pathways to employment for people with the greatest barriers to work.
We carefully select a portfolio of nonprofit organizations that are in the early stages of starting or running revenue-generating businesses that intentionally employ those most disconnected from the workforce. We provide funding, design and help execute plans for growth, strengthen operations, and measure results. We build bridges between for-profit businesses, nonprofits, socially focused capital markets, and government agencies to create accessible job opportunities and entry points to the workforce. We support and document flagship examples of what can be done around the country, while also disseminating practical tools to help others replicate these efforts.
Over the next three years, our efforts will put 1,000 more people in jobs, advance practices that work globally, and catalyze greater private and public investment in market-oriented strategies that move the most disconnected individuals into the workforce.
