Make Preston council overturn their decision on Preston North End's training facility!
Preston North End, one of the football league founders. A part of the city's history and a club in the hearts of many from the PR area and beyond. For years now PNEFC has needed investment to return it to its former glory of the 'invincible' era. We finally get that backing and our own council chooses not to support our club. Preston is now a city. Our aspirations as a football club is to keep up with other 'City' clubs and get to the promise land of the premier league which in the end will bring great revenue to the local businesses in and around town. Since city status, houses have popped up all around us. Left, right and centre. Quashing beautiful fields with no regaurd to scenery. However, though these plans did infact contain housing developments these plans also included a new public park TWICE the size of Avenham park. The council will continue to pass massive business parks, shops, retail developments, housing developments that show no regaurd for landscapes. So why not pass one that will help our local club achieve its aspirations that will bring tourism to our city and create new beautiful parks for its residents to enjoy? It's a sad day when your own council refuses to support their own club. Lets make our voices be heard above the objections. Lets back our boys, lets back our club, lets back our city and unite to show our council that they should support the growth and development of all local sports clubs! PNEFC: "The Council's decision today to refuse the main planning application involving a new training facility, gifted open space and residential development is a major blow to our aspirations, and therefore the city's aspirations, of us achieving our Premier League ambitions. We will now reflect on the way forward, knowing that whatever we ultimately achieve will be without the support of the City Council."
