Release the 1983-1997 Era Disney Channel Original Series on DVD

The Disney Channel recently celebrated its 30th anniversary this past April 2013.  In that time period, it has shown a number of reruns of classic Disney theatrical films and shorts, as well as original tv films.  What the network may be best known for however to its various fans over the years is the original television shows created just for the Disney Channel.  While in the last decade, Disney Channel has focused on teen/tween comedies, its original block of programming from it’s original days as a premium channel is still beloved by the various fans of this era, including: -Welcome to Pooh Corner (1983-1986) -Mousercise (1983-1986) -Five Mile Creek (1983-1985) - Final 2 seasons -You and Me Kid (1983) -The Scheme of Things (1983) -Epcot Magazine (1984-1986) -Disney Family Album (1984) -Wildside (1985) -Dumbo's Circus (1985) -Good Morning Miss Bliss (1987-1989) -Adventures in Wonderland (1991-1995) -The Torkelsons (1991-1992) -Flash Forward (1996-1997) These shows have been translated into multiple languages and shown in countries all over the World, have a loyal following and represent the earliest and possibly best years of Disney Channel programming. Years after a select number of VHS releases for some of these shows, outside of a few select releases, the majority of this line up has remained unreleased onto DVD. We, as a collective body of fans, urge Walt Disney Home Entertainment to finally release these treasured classics onto DVD in their entirety.  We want to enjoy these series, either through the more preferred method of a standard retail DVD, as with most of the original releases, or simply via a Disney Movie Club Exclusive release or the DVD-on-Demand program.  The reasons for denying fans access to the entirety of these shows are unfounded, and must come to an end. If Walt Disney Home Entertainment properly markets and advertises these shows and does not have overly high list prices (two problems that plagued the original releases) we know they will perform better than previous releases. There is a strong fan base for these shows and if you give us the opportunity, we are ready to demonstrate with our pocket books how beloved these shows still are. Thank you. _____________________________________________   For more information about Open Vault Disney, this petition, or our other petitions, please visit us at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/openvaultdisney/

Release your theatrical Zorro films & TV show "Zorro and Son" on DVD

"The Sign of Zorro" (1958) and "Zorro the Avenger" (1959) were two popular theatrical films from Walt Disney Studios that were made up from episodes of the very popular Disney television series, "Zorro" (1957-1959). "Zorro and Son" was a 1983 television show revival of the classic 1950's Disney show that originally aired on CBS. Based on the 1919 novel, "The Curse of Capistrano," by New York–based pulp writer Johnston McCulley and the above mentioned original Disney series, both theatrical films and spin-off series gained a loyal following of fans.  In the decades since these titles were produced, they have become an important part of the Disney and Zorro legacies and left a permanent mark on American culture. We, as a collective body of fans, urge Walt Disney Home Entertainment to finally release these unreleased Disney Zorro titles onto DVD. Let us enjoy these these two films and television show, whether through the more preferred method of a standard retail DVD release(s), as a Disney Movie Club Exclusive DVD, or simply via the growing DVD-on-Demand program. We feel the excuses for denying fans access to these titles must come to an end.If Walt Disney Home Entertainment properly markets and advertises such a release(s), we know it/they will do well. There is a strong fan base for all of these Zorro titles and we are ready to demonstrate with our pocket books how beloved they still are, if we are given the opportunity. Thank you. _____________________________________________   For more information about Open Vault Disney, this petition, or our other petitions, please visit us at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/openvaultdisney/

Walt Disney Home Entertainment: Release The Muppet TV Shows and Specials on DVD

Jim Henson’s popular Muppet characters have been enchanting fans of all ages since 1955 with beloved characters like Kermit the Frog, Rowlf the Dog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and many others. Each of these characters have become major figures in modern popular culture. In 2004, the Walt Disney Company purchased the rights to the Muppets, which include the characters and films, shows and TV specials featuring these beloved characters.  Despite DVD and (now) Blu-ray releases of the Muppet films and from 2005 to 2008, the first three out of five seasons of the franchise flagship series, The Muppet Show, being released, countless classic Muppet TV titles are still waiting proper DVD releases from Disney. We the undersigned wish to see these unreleased titles finally make it on DVD, including (but not limited to): -The Muppet Show (1976-1981) – Final 2 seasons -Muppet Babies (1984-1990) -Little Muppet Monsters (1985) -Muppets Tonight (1996-1998) -Hey, Cinderella! (1970) -The Frog Prince (1971) -The Muppet Musicians of Bremen (1972) -The Muppets at Walt Disney World (1990) - The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson (1990) - Muppet Classic Theater (1994) - Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree (1995) Regardless if it is through the more preferred method of a standard retail DVD, as were the first three seasons of The Muppet Show, or simply via the DVD-on-Demand program, we feel the excuses for denying fans access to these vintage titles must come to an end, especially with the recent success from the 2011 Muppet film and upcoming film The Muppets…Again! There is a strong fan base for these titles and we are ready to demonstrate with our pocket books how beloved these titles still are, if we are given the opportunity. Thank you. _____________________________________________   For more information about Open Vault Disney, this petition, or our other petitions, please visit us at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/openvaultdisney/

Walt Disney Home Entertainment: Release the rest of The Walt Disney Anthology Mini-Series on DVD

Starting in the 1950’s, Walt Disney personally hosted an anthology show that showcased the amazing talents of the people at the Disney Studios.  Originally known as “Disneyland,” this show would go thru a few different titles, including “Walt Disney Presents,” “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color,” and maybe the most famous title, “The Wonderful World of Disney.”  During the time that Walt Disney produced the show, a number of popular mini-series were aired that would go on to be important parts of the Disney cannon, end up airing all over the world, re-run on the Disney Channel, and find a large base of fans for the Disney brand name. After years of being out of print from a few select VHS releases, Disney released some or parts of these shows as part of the now discontinued, but very popular, “Walt Disney Treasures Collection.”  Since the few releases released, Disney fans and tv history collectors have been clamoring for the rest of the episodes and titles not yet released.  Among the titles desired include, but are not limited to: -The Saga of Andy Burnett (1957-1958) -The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca (1958-1960) - Final unreleased 7 episodes -The Tales of Texas John Slaughter (1958-1961) -The Swamp Fox (1959-1961) - Final 5 episodes -The Ludwig von Drake staring episodes (1961-1967) - All 18 episodes -The Horsemasters (1961) -The Prince and the Pauper (1962) -Gallagher (1965-1968) -Mosby’s Marauders (1967) We, as a collective body of fans, urge Walt Disney Home Entertainment to finally release the unreleased episodes of these treasured classics onto DVD. Let us enjoy these final unreleased episodes, whether through the more preferred method of a standard retail DVD release(s), or simply via the growing DVD-on-Demand program. We feel the excuses for denying fans access to the ends of these shows must come to an end. If Walt Disney Home Entertainment properly markets and advertises such releases, we know they will do well. There is a strong fan base for all of these shows and we are ready to demonstrate with our pocket books how beloved they still are, if we are given the opportunity. Thank you. _____________________________________________   For more information about Open Vault Disney, this petition, or our other petitions, please visit us at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/openvaultdisney/
