Kaiser Permanente: Give earned bonuses to employees
We are committed to restoring a true worker-management partnership based on the principles of fairness and respect. Kaiser Permanente has chosen to ignore these principles that are the pillars of balanced and stable partnership. On one hand, Kaiser Permanente made a record $7.4 billion in profits in 2019 and gave substantial increases to more than three dozen millionaire executives. On the other hand, they are denying OPEIU Local 2 members their earned PSP Rewards for Results bonus. We demand that all Kaiser workers in the Mid-Atlantic region get their PSP Rewards for Results bonus. Kaiser has the moral imperative to share the company’s prosperity and stop the practice of picking winners and losers.
AFL-CIO: Negotiate furloughs with OPEIU Local 2. Settle the contract.
The AFL-CIO has imposed a contract on 50 of its own employees - represented by OPEIU Local 2 - that allows AFL-CIO leadership to impose furloughs on any number of employees for any number of days at any point. AFL-CIO leadership has stated that it will not negotiate furloughs or the terms of furloughs with OPEIU Local 2. Unions should have the right to negotiate decisions such as furloughs and layoffs with management. These decisions have direct economic impact on union members. What makes this decision by AFL-CIO leadership so particularly disturbing is that the AFL-CIO represents 12.5 million US union members. Its leaders also repeatedly spoke out against the forced furlough of US government employees in 2018-2019. This behavior is both anti-union and hypocritical of AFL-CIO leadership. If you believe that these 50 AFL-CIO employees deserve better, sign the petition. If you believe that AFL-CIO leadership should know better, sign the petition. If you believe that all US union members deserve better, sign the petition.
