Germany and Austria should have Google Street View too: change the privacy law!
Because of the privacy law that allows people to ask for blurring their houses from Google Street View, Google is not running the service in most of Germany and Austria. Privacy law should allow people to claim for censorship of public spaces such as a building. Building's façades don't belong to their owner but are public. Like people on the street that can end up in photographs. If people are mental and need to hide themselves from others' view, then they can close themselves in a cave and escape from society. As soon as they are in a public space, their body and their presence is public and anyone is entitled to photo or film them. Therefore, privacy laws must be adequated to these situations and forbid people to claim irrelevant and extreme censorship of photographic or videographic material that simply describe a place as it is, including people, buildings and every other element. It is absolutely understandable to hide faces or car plates, as they are linked to an identity, but housing is not linked to any identity therefore should not included into privacy regulations.
