Jackie Trad MP
I was honoured to be elected to the Queensland Parliament on 28 April 2012 as the Member for South Brisbane and was subsequently appointed the Shadow Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Environment and Heritage Protection, Small Business, Consumer Affairs and The Arts. Since my election, I’ve worked to hold the massive LNP majority in Queensland to account, campaigning actively in our community against LNP job cuts and the loss of health, education, and public transport services. I believe our community needs strong representation in Parliament who will work with local communities to campaign against the unprecedented wind back of environmental protections and sustainable development practices, the rescinding of civil union rights for same sex couples in Queensland, and the axing of funding for local Arts organisations. As a second generation Lebanese migrant who grew up in a small business family on the inner-Southside of Brisbane, I was proud to be the first person from my family to go to university, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Griffith University and a Master of Public Policy from Sydney University. I now live in West End with my husband, Damien where we are raising our two kids. The best part of my job is listening to and working with local residents to make our community an even better place to live and work. If there is ever anything I can do to assist, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
