1000+ Rescued Cattle from Indo-Bangladesh border need Food/Medicines Urgently
Dear Animal Lovers,Dhyan Foundation has taken up the massive task of helping our Border Security Force in rehabilitating cows, bulls and calves of all age groups rescued by them at the Indo-Bangladesh border from being illegally transported to slaughter houses across the border.We are working with 11 battalions in West Bengal and Tripura.Dhyan Foundation has built 3 enclosures also near border posts - malda and krishna nagar in West Bengal and kullubari in Tripura 2 more in process. Every year, Lakhs of cows/bulls are illegally smuggled into Bangladesh where they are turned into shoes,belts and of course,beef as food.As per Indian Govt records following are the details of cattle seized by BSF of Indo-Bangladesh border in past some years :- Year Cattle seized by BSF 2012 1,20,724 2013 1,22,000 2014 1,09,999 2015 1,53,602 2016 1,46,967 (Upto Oct,16) Cattle number which pass through the border number is very high, as per records close to 15 lakhs cattle are illegally smuggled through Indo-Bangla border every year. Cattle are starved for days ,tortured ,beaten while transportation to border for smuggling from other Indian states. Once crossed the border and reached Bangladesh these innocent beings land into slaughter houses for brutal slaughter every day in thousands of number. Rescued cattle by BSF when auctioned mostly being bought by cattle smugglers again for illegal smuggling. Dhyan Foundation has come forward to take the responsibility to give caring home to rescued cattle by BSF on West Bengal border .Close to 1000 cattle were shifted to Animal shelter in Kolkata,West Bengal and Jharkhand.The norwester which hit Kolkata and its environs,swept through our Kolkata gaushala and heavily damaged our sheds and fodder stock.We are in process of rebuilding everything ,WE NEED YOUR HELP !Dhyan Foundation need monetary and voluntarily help to take care of these voiceless beings and the ones who await our help! Help Cattle Dying of Starvation in Chitradurg Karnataka
Dear Animal Lovers, Thousands of starving cows and progeny need help in Chitradurg ! Thousands of cows, bulls & calves are starving as the drought hits Chitradurg taluk in Karnataka, no fodder, no water, no grazing land, no one to look after them. The mother cows have become dry, calves get no milk.They are so emaciated that many of them are hardly able to stand. Since October 13, Dhyan Foundation has been feeding hundreds of animals daily and the number keeps increasing by the day as more and more locals are coming to drop off their animals at our fodder stations ! 1. Nannival Village, 200 animals - feeding started on Oct 132. Muthigarahalli, 270 animals - feeding started on Oct 303. Varuvu #100 animals4. Malurahalli 130 animals5. Chikmanahalli # 100 animals The cattle at these spots are regaining health now. However, the situation is far from ideal. There are many more locations and thousands of cattle that require help as the grazing pastures are fast drying up. Soon we will need to set up many more fodder stations. More THAN 1.5 LAKH OF CATTLE are dying of STARVING in Kollegal Taluk Karnataka
More than 1.5 Lakh of CATTLE are dying of starvation in Kollegal Taluk Karnataka.The forest authorities are denying them entry to their traditional grazing land. Animal Husbandry is providing fodder compensation for not even 1% of the cattle population. The state is experiencing severe drought conditions.There is no food, no water, no rain.Cattle have become weak and dying .Villagers are selling them for cheap prices to slaughter houses. The only fodder station arranged by Animal Husbandry department is in Rampura and provides for less than 500 cattle. 27 gram panchayats where situation is critical - Gopinatham,Male Mahadeshwara,Ponnachi,Mattalli,Koudalli,Koratihosur,Hoogyam,Meenyam,Dinnalli,Ramapura,Basappanadoddi,Ajjipura,yellemala,Managalli,Bandalli,Shagya,Mangala,Kongarahalli,Kannur,Bellatur,Chikkamalpura,P.G Palaya,Lokkananahalli,Suttur,Bailur. Forest officials have cordoned off the area forgetting that cows and progeny forms important part of ecosystem,they are unruly and beat the cows with sticks if they are found near the cordoned area as per villagers.
