Add your name to pledge to vote for Democrats this November.
The GOP circus, led by their presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump, has taken attention away from the real issues facing America today, but the Democratic Party is still fighting for progress across the country. Democrats are fighting to make that sure the economy is working for the middle class, to keep our communities safe from gun violence, and to ensure that women earn equal pay. The Democratic Party has a lot of work left to do and needs your support in order to make this vision of progress a reality. Don’t let the Republicans continue their obstruction. Tell Senate Republicans: Enough Obstruction – Do Your Job
President Obama has fulfilled his constitutional duty and nominated Chief Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. Now it is time for Senate Republicans to fulfill theirs. Add your name to support moving forward with President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee. Republicans in the Senate have not only vowed to block the confirmation of the next Supreme Court Justice — many of them have also said they won’t even meet with Chief Judge Garland. Instead of helping our country move forward, they’re criticizing President Obama for doing his job while refusing to do theirs. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan wants to “leave this decision to the American people,” and let the next President fill the seat. But Senate Republicans need to be reminded that the American people made their decision by electing President Obama twice. It's clear that Chief Judge Garland has the experience and the integrity to rule fairly as the ninth member of the Supreme Court. He has served for nearly two decades on the D.C. Circuit, and has earned support from liberals and conservatives alike over the years, making it hard to imagine why the Senate wouldn’t afford him a hearing. The Senate GOP’s refusal to confirm Chief Judge Garland isn’t leadership — it’s obstruction. We cannot afford to compromise the Supreme Court with Republican-led political games, and it’s time to tell the GOP that we cannot let them continue to block progress. President Obama has done his job — now add your name to tell Senate Republicans that you expect them to do their jobs, too. Paid for by the Democratic National Committee. Democrats.org. Help Continue President Obama’s Progress
Seven years ago, President Obama took office with ambitious goals to ignite change and move America forward. Since then, he’s led us through some of the most incredible progress this country has ever seen. Now, we must work to protect the advancements we’ve made in order to build on that progress. Stand with President Obama and Democrats today. Our accomplishments under President Obama’s leadership are clear: 70 straight months of private-sector job growth, coverage for nearly 18 million Americans under Obamacare, and a historic global agreement to combat climate change – to name just a few. But when it comes to making sure every single American has access to real opportunity, our work isn’t done yet. We must establish universal pre-K and ensure college affordability for every American. We need to invest in the future through clean energy, and advance medical research so that America becomes the country that cures cancer. “Such progress is not inevitable,” as President Obama said – and he certainly can’t do it alone. It has never been more important to elect Democrats this fall who will protect this progress and keep America moving forward. Stand with President Obama on Reducing Gun Violence
President Obama recently announced bold, executive actions to reduce gun violence. Add your name to stand with him today. With more than 30,000 Americans dying from gun violence each year, these actions help keep our communities safer by: - Closing existing loopholes that allow the sale of firearms without a background check - Increasing mental health treatment and reporting for background checks - Encouraging technological improvements that will make guns safer This is just the first step. Congress still needs to act to help save even more lives. But Republicans in Congress have blocked multiple attempts to pass bipartisan legislation to reduce gun violence -- and not one GOP presidential candidate thinks any action is necessary. In response to President’s Obama’s actions to reduce gun violence, Marco Rubio said, “on my first day in office, behind that desk…those orders are gone” and Donald Trump said, “I will unsign that so fast.” By choosing to do nothing in response to mass shootings, the GOP is accepting this kind of gun violence as routine.
