Add your name to pledge to vote for Democrats this November.
The GOP circus, led by their presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump, has taken attention away from the real issues facing America today, but the Democratic Party is still fighting for progress across the country. Democrats are fighting to make that sure the economy is working for the middle class, to keep our communities safe from gun violence, and to ensure that women earn equal pay. The Democratic Party has a lot of work left to do and needs your support in order to make this vision of progress a reality. Don’t let the Republicans continue their obstruction. Tell Senate Republicans: Enough Obstruction – Do Your Job
President Obama has fulfilled his constitutional duty and nominated Chief Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. Now it is time for Senate Republicans to fulfill theirs. Add your name to support moving forward with President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee. Republicans in the Senate have not only vowed to block the confirmation of the next Supreme Court Justice — many of them have also said they won’t even meet with Chief Judge Garland. Instead of helping our country move forward, they’re criticizing President Obama for doing his job while refusing to do theirs. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan wants to “leave this decision to the American people,” and let the next President fill the seat. But Senate Republicans need to be reminded that the American people made their decision by electing President Obama twice. It's clear that Chief Judge Garland has the experience and the integrity to rule fairly as the ninth member of the Supreme Court. He has served for nearly two decades on the D.C. Circuit, and has earned support from liberals and conservatives alike over the years, making it hard to imagine why the Senate wouldn’t afford him a hearing. The Senate GOP’s refusal to confirm Chief Judge Garland isn’t leadership — it’s obstruction. We cannot afford to compromise the Supreme Court with Republican-led political games, and it’s time to tell the GOP that we cannot let them continue to block progress. President Obama has done his job — now add your name to tell Senate Republicans that you expect them to do their jobs, too. Paid for by the Democratic National Committee. Democrats.org. Help Continue President Obama’s Progress
Seven years ago, President Obama took office with ambitious goals to ignite change and move America forward. Since then, he’s led us through some of the most incredible progress this country has ever seen. Now, we must work to protect the advancements we’ve made in order to build on that progress. Stand with President Obama and Democrats today. Our accomplishments under President Obama’s leadership are clear: 70 straight months of private-sector job growth, coverage for nearly 18 million Americans under Obamacare, and a historic global agreement to combat climate change – to name just a few. But when it comes to making sure every single American has access to real opportunity, our work isn’t done yet. We must establish universal pre-K and ensure college affordability for every American. We need to invest in the future through clean energy, and advance medical research so that America becomes the country that cures cancer. “Such progress is not inevitable,” as President Obama said – and he certainly can’t do it alone. It has never been more important to elect Democrats this fall who will protect this progress and keep America moving forward. Stand with President Obama on Reducing Gun Violence
President Obama recently announced bold, executive actions to reduce gun violence. Add your name to stand with him today. With more than 30,000 Americans dying from gun violence each year, these actions help keep our communities safer by: - Closing existing loopholes that allow the sale of firearms without a background check - Increasing mental health treatment and reporting for background checks - Encouraging technological improvements that will make guns safer This is just the first step. Congress still needs to act to help save even more lives. But Republicans in Congress have blocked multiple attempts to pass bipartisan legislation to reduce gun violence -- and not one GOP presidential candidate thinks any action is necessary. In response to President’s Obama’s actions to reduce gun violence, Marco Rubio said, “on my first day in office, behind that desk…those orders are gone” and Donald Trump said, “I will unsign that so fast.” By choosing to do nothing in response to mass shootings, the GOP is accepting this kind of gun violence as routine. Support Paid Family Leave
Paid family leave keeps our families healthier and our economy stronger—yet the Republicans in power reject any and all efforts to ensure access to family leave for all. Add your name to stand with Democrats who support paid leave for all hardworking Americans. Before becoming Speaker, Paul Ryan made it clear that spending time with his family was non-negotiable. But while he acknowledged that family comes first, he has since said prioritizing paid family leave “doesn’t make any sense,” and called it an “entitlement.” The United States is the only developed country with no guaranteed paid family leave policy—and only 12 percent of private-sector workers have access to it through their employers. President Obama has secured up to 7 paid sick days for all government contractors, but he can’t make the change by himself—we need Congress to act. Family leave is something every American deserves. Stand with President Obama on Climate Change Action
The science is settled. Climate change is happening and it’s threatening the health of all Americans, current and future. Add your name if you agree that we must act on climate now. As President Obama said, “no challenge poses a greater threat to our future and future generations than a changing climate.” That’s why the President has introduced the Clean Power Plan, an initiative that will drastically reduce America’s carbon emissions – to help improve the health of all Americans and position the United States as a leader in the fight against climate change. It’s apparent now more than ever that the U.S. needs to take steps to create a healthier environment. 14 of the 15 warmest years on record occurred during the first 15 years of this century. Yet, despite these facts, the GOP continues to deny what 97% of scientists say is true. Virtually every Republican Presidential candidate has come out against the President’s plan. Senator Ted Cruz has accused scientists of “cooking the books” and called the plan “lawless.” Jeb Bush described the plan as “irresponsible and overreaching.” The President needs you on his side to fight back against the GOP. If you agree that we need to act now to preserve our planet for future generations, add your name to stand with President Obama on climate change. Paid for by the Democratic National Committee. We Believe Women Should Make Their Own Health Care Decisions
It’s been over 40 years since Roe v. Wade but a woman’s right to choose is still under attack. Tell the GOP: stop your attacks on women’s health care. The GOP has been very outspoken on their thoughts about women’s health care. Marco Rubio called the Roe v. Wade decision “tragic.” As the governor of Florida, Jeb Bush used taxpayer money to support anti-abortion groups. Ted Cruz called Planned Parenthood an “ongoing criminal enterprise,” and promised to use any means available to block the group’s funding. In their latest attack on women’s health care, GOP Senators are threatening women’s access to health care by attempting to defund Planned Parenthood, even risking a government shutdown AGAIN just to deny health care to millions of women – including birth control. Take a stand against Republicans fighting a battle against women’s health care. Add your name to join Democrats who are working to protect a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions.
