More Train Carriages for the Adelaide Metro Gawler Train Line!
On the Gawler Train Line managed by Adelaide Metro, a high amount of users board the train each morning and afternoon - which looks like tight packing of sardines into a minimum amount of carriages. We, the petitioners call on the Transport Minister Stephan Knoll and Adelaide Metro to increase the amount of carriages so hundreds of people do not need to be crammed into 1-2 carriages. This is an issue for my residents whom are users of the Mawson Lakes Train Interchange. When they attempt to board they need to squish onto the train because all seats and most space standing are taken before the train arrives at Mawson Lakes. We call on the Minister to review the amount of carriages used and increase it so that users can fit on and use the public transport services that we pay for. Thanks, Cr Beau Brug email@example.com
Duplicate Elder Smith Road, Mawson Lakes now!
Elder Smith Road and Bridge in Mawson Lakes is a huge issue raised with me and is a complex situation that State Government need to tackle immediately. About $1.1 million was spent in 2017 duplicating a section of Elder Smith at Mawson Lakes. However as tens of thousands of vehicles are using this road each day as a connector between Salisbury Highway and Main North Road or as a local road to access their home in Mawson Lakes, something must be done! To ease nose-to-tail traffic and improve safety following more than a dozen crashes at the site, the road should be either considered only for local traffic or duplication should occur to make it safer and faster for those using it in the community. Therefore this petition calls upon the Liberal State and Federal Governments to act now and duplicate the road before the community suffers further. The community support is there, now we need collaboration and funding. Thanks, Councillor Beau BrugContact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Hollywood Plaza please replace the Hollywood Sign
For more than 50 years the Hollywood sign has stood proudly as a beacon of light in the community, first as a drive-in and then as part of the shopping precinct. The decision to remove the Hollywood sign at Hollywood Plaza is disappointing however if it was due to “safety concerns” it is understandable. However, it would be extremely disappointing if then development or housing replaces the site. We petitioners value and appreciate the significance it has within the community and ask that the iconic sign be replaced.
Fix Mawson Lakes Interchange Carparking
Car parking in Mawson Lakes is a huge issue raised with me and is a complex situation that State Government and Council need to tackle together. Since works started on the new connection project on Elder Smith Rd, about 40 car parks from the Mawson Lakes Interchange have been taken, at the same time the new Romeo Foodlands opened - with hundreds of staff and new customers visiting the new shopping complex in Mawson Lakes. However, Foodland parking is underground, limited and is paid parking. Therefore customers and staff are parking wherever they can: on the street, blocking entrances and exits, even parking on yellow lines risking expensive expiration notices. Recently people were fined $155 for parking on the yellow line in the Mawson Lakes Interchange car park, and believe that being fined was unfair as they cannot find anywhere else to park, and they need to access their residences, businesses and the interchange. The car parking in Mawson Lakes is getting worse and as such we need to take action and look at solutions including funding a multi storey car park in Mawson Lakes to ease the pain. The community support is there, now we need collaboration and funding. Thanks, Councillor Beau Brug Contact: email@example.com
