The current class size of 26+ is well over the state standard maximum of 24 and parents that want to choose Cornerstone for the current school year are being denied the opportunity because the third class was unexpectedly eliminated. This will cause short-term district budget concerns to become long-term funding issues for Cornerstone specifically since teachers will be lost each following school year leading to a permanent 30% reduction in future funding if two classes becomes the new standard which threatens the overall viability of Cornerstone. This can easily be avoided by reinstating the third kindergarten class allowing the parents waiting to enroll their children to do so immediately, as well as making other parents in the district aware of the opportunity for enrollment at Cornerstone to alleviate the current overcrowding situation at neighborhood elementary schools.
