MBBS Seats 2017 - 62,960
MBBS Seats 2018 - 51,460
Medical Council of India has reduced more than 10,000 MBBS seats in 82 running Medical Colleges of India and has disallowed opening of 68 New medical Colleges which would have further added 10,000 new MBBS seats for the 714,000 NEET 2018 qualified aspirants.
With just a little effort from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the directions of our Honourable Prime Minister 20,000 additional MBBS seats can be added to this year(2018-19)
Reducing seats creates an artificial supply and demand gap which increases the cost per seat. As per WHO we are at a deficit of 5.5 lakh doctors TODAY
