Concerned Florida State University students who wants change and will not tolerate injustice.
As students of Florida State University we strongly denounce our school’s decision to utilize Aramark’s dining services. Aramark has a lengthy history of profiting off of mass incarceration and perpetuating egregious injustices. We demand that FSU take immediate action on our behalf. We are asking for your help by signing this petition please.
- In November of 2019, a civil rights lawsuit was filed against the company for profiting off of free prison slavery.
- The company has also signed contracts with and supported over 100 ICE detention centers.
- In 2019, New York University ended its contract with Aramark after the health department detected “evidence of mice, filth [and] flies” after the company served “watermelon water” during Black History Month.
Is this the example we wish to be? Does a top 20 public university want to be associated with slavery and exploitation? We, the student body, demand that the FSU Board of Trustees take immediate action to terminate their contract with Aramark.
