Police Accountability

The recent deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile at the hands of police officers have sparked outrage around the country and renewed calls for police accountability and major changes to training and policing in the United States.

People from around the nation have highlighted stories from their communities, and made calls for everything from officers to be re-trained in using non-lethal force, banning the use of chokeholds, ending the use of military equipment by local police departments, and a renewal of the commitment by police officers around the country to protect and serve their communities equally, without prejudice.
