Fight Florida's Death Tide
About the movement
For the past nine months, a deadly algal bloom has been killing Florida’s coastal marine life. The prolonged toxic bloom is affecting 100 miles of Florida’s coastline killing thousands of Florida's marine life and making people sick.
Conditions are so critical that Florida's Governor Rick Scott issued a State of Emergency to attempt to “combat” the toxic bloom. However, the executive order only funds cleanup efforts, while ignoring the causes of the bloom, like agricultural runoff and the warming waters of climate change.
Join the movement by starting or supporting a petition to call on Florida to take action to combat the deadly blooms.
