Many of us professional skateboarders rely on Southbank to practice for our livelihood.

As well as being a mecca for skate boarders all over the world this is a very important place for many people, not to mention the added value the park and professionals bring in terms of tourism.

The proposal to move the skate park means it is not regarded as equally important as the the other cultural facilities at Southbank. It shows skate boarders are being marginalised and it proves that Southbank strategy is elitist and not serving local people.

Many young local people start skating here, it is a social meeting place as well as a place for sport and artistic talent.

Because South Bank is one of, if not, THE best place on Earth for celebrating culture. And you're trying to take it away?!?!!

The skate park is of cultural significance to my area and adds to the community spirit. Southbank should not just be for tourists. If new developments were made in the area, the beneficaries are likely to be external to the area. Either taking profits of the businesses abroad, if any new homes were built, it is highly unlikely there will be any owner occupiers. Such trophy properties are always sold to investors, which again is of no benefit to the Southwark community, nor the young generation rent who wouldn't be able to afford them anyway.

There is nowhere with it's energy or mix of community, creativity or diversity. It's such a rare spot, I am a semi pro photographer and many skils I have learnt have come from regularly going, having skaters do tricks for me and talking to other photographers, I would be happy to send some photographs to show you what you are taking if you remove this site! Please don't take this mecca, this is one way I actually WANT my taxes spent thank you

I don't live in London but whenever we travel there we always visit this part of the river. It is refreshing to see somewhere that connects with real people and not a corporation, leave it alone and let us all enjoy one small space that hasn't got a financial logo or mcdonalds plastered all over it.

I have been skating for 18 years and now have two kids of my own. Skateboarding gives children an outlet to release energy and feel good about themselves. This park is part of the areas culture and provides so much positivity to not only youth but people of all ages. The world doesn't need any more shops etc it needs places like this so people can feel part of a community. Southbank provides so much more than just a place to skate.
