University of Toledo Medical Center and ProMedica

renew transfer agreements with Toledo abortion clinics.

    1. Petition by

Keep Abortion Safe and Legal in Toledo

Access to safe and legal abortions in Toledo will end and both of Toledo's abortion clinics will close within months if the University of Toledo Medical Center and/or ProMedica do not agree to extend or renew transfer agreements with the Center For Choice and Capital Care, the two clinics that provide abortions in Toledo.

With the denial of a transfer agreement from both the University of Toledo Medical Center and Toledo Hospital, the Center for Choice will be forced to close its doors within 30 days of its next state inspection. That inspection can occur at anytime, without notice. Capital Care, which also provides abortions, has also been advised that their transfer agreement will not be renewed and may be terminated prior to it's 6/13 expiration date.

We demand that abortion remains accessible for all Toledo women, as well as the women from Michigan and Indiana who travel to our local clinics, and we ask UTMC and ProMedica to keep this a reality.

University of Toledo Medical Center and ProMedica
renew transfer agreements with Toledo abortion clinics.

Because I'm horrified at how successful anti-choice people have been at circumventing the legality of abortion.

Because I'm disgusted that so many so-called "Christians" could put women in such a frightening & desperate place in such a hard luck town, as to have nowhere to go for an abortion. And I'm sure, much like myself, many of these women have no transportation to travel to another city (and they shouldn't have to). Where will these "Christians" be when unwanted children )who will be ACTUAL children, not the fetuses the "Christians" seem so obsessed with), where will those "Christians" be, those self-proclaimed "pro-life" people? Will they help feed, clothe, educate these kids? History points to a big "no" on that, a big "CUT WELFARE! NO FREE STUFF FOR THE POOR!"

But, most of all, because I'm tired of "Christians" stepping on the rights of women in the name of their "god". Just like the old saying, “Your right to swing your arms ends just where the other man’s nose begins.”, I believe "your right to spout your religious beliefs from your pieholes ends where the woman you're harassing because she's seeking a legal medical procedure's uterus begins."
