The Ontario Health Insurance Program/ Ministry of Health and Long Term Care: Stop the fees for annual pap tests!

Abnormal pap test results can often flag abnormalities through lesions caused by infections with the human papillomaviruses (HPV), which can cause cervical cancer. Many other infections, which are flagged by the pap test can lead to sterility and other reproductive organ issues if left untreated.

It is not fair to lower income women to have to choose between spending $20 on a pap test and perhaps feeding their children. What annual men's tests were reviewed as cost cutting measures?

The government is changing health care on more than annual pap smears.....the whole annual physical examination is now limited to 3 years.

The members of parliament need a pay cut if they don't think we can afford to do preventative medicine cause it's too expensive

It's women's health! I have abnormal cells and need to be closely monitored with paps every 6 months.

Not having an extra $20 could mean the difference between life and death for some women. Or it could mean the difference between becoming a parent or not being able to conceive at all. Targeting women is a new low for the government - what can we expect next? Becoming the next "state" of our southern neigbours?!!!
