Verizon announces that it will begin charging a $2 payment fee and the internet explodes with outrage. Bank of America fee-slayer and Verizon customer Molly Katchpole decides to start another campaign, this time protesting the Verizon fee. Within hours, more than 130,000 of sign the petition and media coverage goes wild. In a victory for consumer power, Verizon backs down less than 24 hours after announcing the fee.

Verizon Wireless just announced a new $2 fee for paying your bills online. Really. Even though paying via internet is fully automated.

It’s not just about the money (though if you’re like me, you don’t have extra cash to be sending to a giant phone company in order to pay your own bills.) It’s that Verizon thinks it can do anything to its customers, and that we’re powerless to stop it. (Spoiler alert: We’re not.)

And guess what? It turns out that Verizon paid zero federal income tax from 2008-2010. Actually, they got almost a billion dollars in rebates from taxpayers.

Sign this petition to tell Verizon Wireless to drop the fee for paying bills online.

I am getting ready to leave Verizon as they are so expensive. I have been paying almost $175.00 a month for years now and so many other companies charge less for all you can talk, text, email etc. I dont get why they charge so much for everything and the taxes are complete BS. Good bye Verizon, Hello Sprint

Verizon costs are way less when we pay on line than when we go into the store or may a call. Should be free, otherwise, Verizon customers are being FLEECED.

Paying a bill online is almost certainly cheaper for Verizon to process than paying individuals to physically open envelopes and depositing checks. There is no reason for an added fee.

Verizon is the most expensive wireless service in the market. One of many reasons I am no longer a Verizon customer. I found service 75% less than what I was paying without sacrificing anything.
