Indiana is a great state. It’s home to the Indianapolis 500, our hospitality is famous and we’re world-leaders in many categories, including agriculture, philanthropy and life sciences.
But, we think we can do better.
We envision an even stronger state in our future fueled by the knowledge economy – one that combines technology, innovation, critical thinking, and the humanities.
In order to compete in the 21st century, we believe Hoosiers need to think, read and talk more. We need to be more civically engaged, healthier, better connected to our communities and our environments, and more willing to engage in meaningful dialogue with people of diverse backgrounds.
History, literature, music, art, philosophy and other humanities disciplines provide the foundation for helping Hoosiers understand themselves and the world around them. When we better understand our shared cultural heritage and our own communities, we can better plan for our future.
We need an even better Indiana – and you can help us create one.
