Prohibit pharmacists from refusing services on religious/moral grounds

    1. Petition by

      Liz Morrow

      London, United Kingdom

A pharmacist in central London recently refused to sell me contraception because to do so would conflict with his moral or religious beliefs. I was stunned, and even more surprised to learn that the General Pharmaceutical Council of Britain empowers him to do so. If you think that the provision of legal pharmaceutical services in Britain should not hinge on the moral or religious qualms of one person, please sign my petition.

State should not be sponsoring or sanctioning superstitions. Ridicuous medieval beliefs have no place in medicine

it's absolutely fine to have your own religious/moral stand point. but firstly, please dont make me have to abide by it. ill make choices about my body and contraception, and you can too, about your own. and secondly, maybe try NOT being a pharmacist, if you arent going to help someone with contraception. the key being in the 'contra' bit...

Controlling one's own fertility is a human right that should not be governed by the personal views of someone else.

Because everyone should have the right to contraception, no matter what other peoples beliefs are.

Because contraception must be freely available to women, for thier welbeing and for the good of equality. Moreover, we are a country that is supposed to provide contraception, no one should be allowed to interfere with that provision
