California Legislators: Save Student Government in Our State

Student government in the state of California is need of major re-invigoration. Due to state budget cuts, the California Association of Student Councils (CASC), the organization responsible for supporting student governments and student advocacy in California, is losing the shamefully small amount of funding it receives from our state.

We cannot allow this to happen-- and we'll continue to fight for the support that our state's youth need and deserve.

Sign this petition and ensure that CASC keeps the $45,000 that it receives from our state budget.

I am part of California Association of Student Councils, and from what I've seen, non-profit organizations like these make a difference in my life and impact the youth to help their communities and make a positive change.

CASC has made a monumental impact on giving significant insight from California students themselves of the education system. This advocacy is rare in high school students- and for being the only one around in CA- it's imperative we must do all we can to keep it running.

CASC is an amazing organization. I attended their camp and it taught me so many things that will help me as a youth leader in my community. It also provided me with an opportunity to make friends.

I recently attended the CASC summer program and it was literally the experience of a lifetime. It encouraged me in ways I never thought it would and I would hate to see it change for the worse and be less available to students and future leaders because of budget cuts. I hope to actively become a part of this organization by counseling during camp or getting others to attend and I know that I am not the only person that CASC has affected.

My best friend has become one of the most inspiring people I know because of the opportunities she had through CASC.
