Amtrak: Allow pets to travel on trains with their human companions.

Pets are family members to many of us. As of now, driving a car is the only safe way to travel with pets. We need an alternative to car travel for non-drivers, especially for the elderly who may not be able to manage long road trips.

Many AMTRAK passengers are pet owners. Many pet owners would become AMTRAK passengers if this option was available to them. Railroads are a resource that should be available to people who want to travel with pets.

People travel with pets on trains all over Europe - why not here? We'd certainly use Amtrak if we could take our dog with us!

I usually take my pets with me when I travel. Due to restrictions I have to leave them at a kennel. They don't like them and neither do I. it would be extremely convenient for me if you would allow my pets to travel on the train because my favorite mode of transportion other than driving is on the train.

I have a service animal, and it would be pleasant, comfortable and easier than a plane

I live in the midwest and my partner has a house in Seattle. We would choose Amtrack for our travels often if we could bring our dog along.
