Star Wars needs a new direction. It needs someone at the helm 1) with a proven track record at the box office (Avengers) and 2) with the writing and directing skill to make the next movie in the Star Wars franchise as memorable as the first.

Joss has a previous track record with the Marvel frachise, The Avengers, also owned by Disney. This is a win for Disney, and fans of the Star Wars universe.
