Tennessee General Assembly - Stop the Obama Administration from Instituting Gun Control in Tennessee

    1. Petition by

      Tennessee Tenth Amendment Center

The right to life and the right to defend that life are the most basic rights that we as humans have. Federal gun laws are a violation of these natural rights and of the 2nd Amendment.

Recent calls for politicians to “do something” including outright bans are alarming, to be sure. As Tennesseans, we expect our state legislature and governor to stand up and say no to such attacks on our most basic rights.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders in the State House and Senate to act now to pass the Tenth Amendment Center's 2nd Amendment Preservation Act and support our Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Because this is just an example of the government trying to control our lives and going against the constitution that was established so our lives wouldn't be controlled by the government.

I'm originally from Tn. my family still owns farm land there ,I'd hate to see the only people left holding guns to be drug addicts/dealers and criminals. Of course our political figures have several armed body guards no need for them to worry

The 2nd amendment was meant to enable the people to support the government when needed, defend themselves against criminals, as well as protect against a government that could turn against its people. Government officials are humans and are prone to make mistakes and abuse powers attributed to them. The first presidents acknowledged 2nd amendment rights, so let's not disparage our Constitution through lies about its intent, nor restrict it through lesser constructs called laws.

Either change the constitution, or back off. Stop wasting taxpayers money on un-American ways of devaluing the Constitution.
