Coach Reno Saccoccia had received numerous text messages from Trent Mays, who informed him about the rape. Mays then texted a friend, saying "I got Reno. He took care of it and shit ain’t gonna happen, even if they did take it to court. Like he was joking about it so I’m not worried,” Yes--Coach Reno JOKED about a 16 year old girl being raped as though it didn't even matter. It's time we stopped deifying this man and gave him the boot. He doesn't deserve to have his job for knowing a teenage girl got raped and refusing to report it to authorities.

Reno Saccoccia, Steubenville Football Coach, Could Face Charges of Failure to Report Rape

Reno Saccoccia, Steubenville's head football coach, could face charges of failure to report a rape if a grand jury agrees that there is enough evidence to prove he knew a rape had occurred. His two players, Trent Mays and Ma'Lik Richmond have both been found guilty of rape and Saccoccia could be next in the courtroom.

Rape should never be ignored. All people deserve equal and fair treatment. All people are equal, even though you try to put a few above.

There is no excuse for not reporting rape no matter how good a football player they are.

If indeed this man knew of the rape and did nothing to report it, that is worthy of his termination.

As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, I would expect a person who teaches or coaches youths to report this type of awful behavior as soon as he or she becomes aware of it.
