That Southampton lacks somewhere for LGBT to express themselves is such a shame! Prides are a fundamentally important part of educating the citizens of a city to the diversity and vibrancy of their community. Knowledge and recognition helps demystify, improving relations between different sections of society. This can only be a good thing and I am happy to offer my support.

I've just moved to Southampton from Brighton, and I'm already missing the general community support for LGBT people that Brighton has. A Southampton Pride would be a great way to create that here.

I think it is essential to celebrate the LGBT community. I'm personally gay, but whether you are or not, it's worth celebrating to show it's okay. I know lots of people from university that would go.
