STOP CUTBACKS ON PAP SMEARS!

    1. Petition by

      Andrea Nicole

      Canada

Cervical cancer is dangerous, and can go undetected. The only test for abnormal cervical cell changes is a PAP SMEAR. As of the recent Government cut backs to our healthcare funding, women will only be allowed a routine pap smear EVERY THREE YEARS, which before, was ANNUALLY. In the span of three years it is possible for a woman's cervix to develop abnormal and even cancerous cells. Further, our Government will not even allow a woman to PAY for a pap smear if the government still chooses to limit its funding. Our tests will be DENIED processing. That means that as Canadian women, we are being DENIED our right to healthcare.

If the Government doesn't want to pay for it, we should be able to pay for tests! Women should have the RIGHT to protect their body and health in any way they so choose.

STOP DENYING YOUR MOTHERS, SISTERS, WIVES, AND DAUGHTERS ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE AND TESTS THAT CAN DETECT CANCEROUS CHANGES THAT WILL OTHERWISE GO UNDETECTED.

WE ALL HAVE A RIGHT TO ACCESS!

The government wants to save money, but I'd like to SAVE MY LIFE.

This is a frightening reduction of health rights.

Cancer cells can grow at a rapid rate, and three years between examinations is extremely irresponsible on the part of the already-incompetent Ontario government!

I would want to catch cancer in its early stages so,I would have a chance for a cure.

This is outrageous! Not all women can afford a PAP if there are cutbacks. Every woman should be able to be warned of potential threats to their health!
