Thank you so much. WE DID IT! Over the last couple of weeks 18,000 of you signed my petition and it means Auckland's rape crisis line will be able to continue its vital role in supporting sexual assault survivors.

UPDATE: Prime Minister John Key has just done a devastating backflip.

It is with deep sadness and anger that I write to let you know Auckland's 24 hour rape crisis line is under threat of closure --less than 12 months since 7,000 of you signed my petition that forced PM Key to promise its survival.

Please sign and share this petition to help save the essential service. And keep PM Key to his promise!

Auckland Sexual Abuse Help is the 24 hour crisis service for those who report rape or sexual violence in Auckland. Unless the NZ government does something urgently to provide proper funding to keep this service operating, it will close in January - less than a month from now, after 30 years providing professional counselling and support to rape and sexual violence survivors. Members of the public can make the government hear how important this service is by letting the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Justice know they need to take responsibility for keeping this crucial service open, and funding it properly.

Save the 24 hour crisis line - speak up in support of Help for sexual violence survivors.

Send a message about why signed the petition directly to John Key on facebook here: http://on.fb.me/vaQ30r

I was psychologically abused for a long time as a child and became depressed and suicidal, There was nothing like this that I knew of, and had to come out alone, this is wrong. If there is a crisis service it will uncover the abuser and aid the Police and Law find and apprehend the abuser, its 2012 not 1971 we are responsibility to care and aid those who are having there rights taken from them.

This is important to me and everyone else becasue too many gilrs are abused and it goes un mentioned and the scum who do it get away with it and in alot of cases do it again. A girl has to live with rememberingwhat happened to her and some never ever tell anyone for their whole life becasue fo the fear of speaking out especially if it is a family member. John Key does back flips on to any things, he is such a fake!!!!!

I've been a victim of this and it's life-breaking. THis service should not even be considered for closure.
