A clarification regarding the intent of the petition (Pls. read)
Hi All, Many people have been asking me questions about the petition, and some have mis-interpreted the intention of it. So please read through the below clarification...
What prompted you to start the campaign ?
I have tried complaining the harassment by auto-drivers quite a few times but I am not sure if any action was taken and there is no way of knowing it. Sometimes the number doesn't even function.
What's the demand ?
Our demand is to make the system efficient and some suggestions include.
1) Provide a way to track the complaints registered. So we know our voice is not going unheard, and that its not merely a rule for the sake of it.
2) There is lack of awareness about this rule with the auto rickshaw community itself. There should be notices sent out or distributed to ensure that auto rickshaw drivers know that if they refuse to ply or charge more, then they will be booked. This will definitely cut down the number of complaints that are being registered.
