John Laws, 2SM management, and the owners of Super Radio Network. We want John Laws and 2SM to apologise and commit to education on sexual assault.

    1. Petition by

      Destroy the Joint

Sexual abuse is a crime. Destroy the Joint is petitioning John Laws and 2SM management, and owners Bill and Pamela Caralis, to publicly apologise and commit to education of presenters and staff because the on-air comments made by John Laws to a woman who is a sexual assault survivor reflect a culture of shaming & blaming of individuals who have been subjected to sexual assault. This shaming and blaming needs to stop.

To:
John Laws, 2SM management, and the owners of Super Radio Network, John Laws
We want John Laws and 2SM to apologise and commit to education on sexual assault.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

      Dear Destroyers,

As a signatory to the Destroy the Joint (DtJ) John Laws/2SM petition we're contacting you to let you know of an exciting development in our campaign to get John Laws to apologise for on-air comments to a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, and for 2SM to commit to providing education to staff and management.

DtJ is working with GetUp to broaden the scope of the campaign. GetUp will be emailing their members with a new version of the petition. This collaboration will bring Law's comments and the petition to a much larger audience, and the stronger support base is more likely to achieve our desired result.

I work with survivors of sexual assault everyday, and the emotional damage they overcome. Society's views and perception of victims of assault is appalling. We live in a world which teaches women how not to get assaulted, rather than raising men to not assault.

The under reporting of sexual assault by Victim/survivors due to fear of stigma and not being believed is well known. This petition does not go far enough. Sack John Laws!

I feel ir is another feminist whitch hunt. While you are at it have a go at Julia Gillard's ridiculous attack of Tony Abbott with misogynist..making out nation a laughing stock. And the discrimination against males in banks, Centrelink, Primary schools....

Has happened to myself (though I was 18), and I have 3 children, youngest 8 (whose 7 year old friend has been abused for 4 years by her Father, who's now in jail), and I am aware of how difficult it is to have sufficient representation to quit the act other than idiots like John Laws ridiculously bringing bad light to the subject.
