Refuse East Yorkshire Beagle Farm Expansion!

    1. Petition by

      Anti Vivisection Coalition (AVC)

United in Objection, Together for Progress

This petition highlights serious local environment concerns raised by B & K Universal's application to extend their laboratory Beagle breeding facility, and focuses on up-to-date scientific knowledge supported by MPs in Parliament, who are calling for experiments on animals to be held to account with properly moderated, public scientific debates.

    1. Thousands of Animals Spared as Beagle Farm Bid Rejected!

East Riding of Yorkshire Councillors have today been congratulated by the Anti-Vivisection Coalition (AVC) following rejecting plans for a new beagle farm in the region.

B&K Universal, part of the infamous Marshall BioResources, lodged the application some weeks ago in order to construct a unit housing thousands of beagles, ferrets and rodents for laboratory experiments.

The Anti-Vivisection Coalition (AVC) has been one of multiple organisations in the United Kingdom firmly opposing the bid. Last month, AVC headed a petition which closed – in parallel with the period for objections ending – with an outstanding sum of over 40,000 signatures of opposition to the facility.

The decision follows the rejection of a similar proposal in January 2012 following a national campaign fronted by anti-vivisectionists, including the now-Head of AVC Luke Steele.

AVC has today honoured the decision as a "monumental victory for animals and the abolition of vivisection."

Puppy farms saturate society with animals, leaving wonderful loving dogs to die in Shelters, due to overpopulation and caring people adopting bred puppies and not Shelter animals. Too many unwanted dogs and puppies therefore die needlessly.
